Art Teacher, Digital Art Curriculum Designer, Art21 Educator

In my studio practice I am currently exploring  patterns from nature. Birds; wings, flight and form.   Trees; branches and leaves, clouds, rivers and ripples. Birds: eternal symbols of beauty and freedom, their very shapes embody movement and emotion.

Landscape has always been a focal point because I believe Cezanne was right, the truth is in nature. Currently, I'm making abstract paintings that are figurative. I cull patterns from nature and I use them to build shapes, carry light, and to make marks.

My work is in several media; primarily painting, ceramics, and digital. I have also collaborated with other Digital artists to create contemporary art curriculum.

I live in an 1890 Quaker rectory in the Hudson Valley with my husband and we sail the river when there is no ice.

The work has been widely exhibited in galleries, group shows, and solo shows at Gallery 40, Poughkeepsie NY, Wallkill Art Center, Montgomery NY and the Howland Center for the Arts in Beacon NY.
